Canon 2190B001 Overview
Useful for minimizing reflections and glare and enhancing the overall color and tonal saturation is the 72mm Circular Polarizing Filter from Canon. By filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface, this filter helps to produce a noticeable increase in saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto-exposure functions.

Canon 2190B001 Reviews
Not threaded on the front
I am disappointed that my Canon 72mm Circular Polarizing filter is not threaded on the front. Honestly, I might not have noticed this as I will usually stack this filter on the lens last, with other filters underneath it. But it will not accept my Canon front lens cap either. Bad design in this regard. I'm ordering the Formatt Hitech Firecrest SuperSlim to replace this filter.
Awesome effects !!!
Works magic on my EF 50mm L f1.2 when shooting outdoors and nature. Lake shots are outstanding. And if you use it in the city, the reflection on the building glass is gone!!! - (or vice verse).
polarizes !
Works fine ! But as expected another glass degrades sharpness slightly. I use on a Canon Lens 45mm tilt/shift and as expected, when shift is in use the polarizers degrades sharpness even more - to the point that I may not use it ! If landscapes or architecure photos I may elect to use it as a component in an assembly of photographs that combines as an example; sky or water or windows with the polarizer and the rest of the scene without the filter. Nothing wrong with the filter, just the reality of photography...
So thats what color the sky is
Have not used this filter very much yet. It is very easy to attach to the lens and wow does it ever enhance the color of the sky. I can't wait to go out and so what this filter can do with refections from water.
awesome filter
I use this photo for a lot of my outdoor shots. works well to sharpen up clouds and excellent for making lakes, etc. clear. if you want to put a bunch of photos together to make a type of panoramic view it doesn't really work.
It makes a big difference
I'm using it in the Northeast where there is always snow, and the filter really helps bring out the details in the frame.
Worst Every Penny
I primarily use it with my Canon 35mm f1.4 L II. The filter allows for better saturation of colors and lessens glare. I think ill Just keep it on. Very well made-its a Canon.
