Nearly every aspect of the technology inside the FiiO M11 Plus Portable High-Resolution Lossless Wireless Music Player has been crafted to deliver audiophiles with a portable solution that's capable of reproducing a clean and authentic listening experience. To achieve this goal, FiiO incorporates their own Digital Audio Purification system (DAPS), dual ES9068AS DACs for incredibly low distortion, dual THX AAA-78 headphone amps for a live concert feel, and MQA 8x decoding for sound quality meant to match the master as closely as possible with compatible MQA files. There are also internal engineering touches made to reduce interference and offer a higher dynamic range, such as using independent power supplies and individual component shielding.
FiiO utilizes the LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, and AAC Bluetooth codecs for a high-quality Bluetooth streaming experience with most compatible devices. The M11 Plus also achieves both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications. When utilizing wired headphones, you're fully supported with three outputs: balanced 2.5 and 4.4mm, and an unbalanced 3.5mm. The 4.4mm headphone output also doubles as a balanced line output, and the 3.5mm jack also provides line output and a coaxial audio output. If you would like to utilize the power inside this handheld player to enhance your PC audio experience, you can use the M11 Plus as a USB DAC. All of this and more can be controlled via the integrated 5.5" 18:9 bezel-less display.

FiiO M11 Plus ESS Reviews
Why?
My hand is in a cast and writing this is very difficult and I will finish when my hand is better. Never mind the issues I'm having with (which I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and possibly taking legal action, avoid PayBoo!) this is a product that I almost returned and every time I use, end up cursing; there is so much about this product that is just plain ridiculous. My understanding is the sound quality is very good but I am usually out of patience by the time I get an album playing and not in any state of mind to compare it to anything else. I loved the Fiio X5ii and I could find the music I wanted to hear and have it playing in much less than minute. Also loved their earbuds. This device, however is maddening! From the brightness controls, to the volume to the different modes to everything else. I mean, what were they thinking? Sorry it is not possible with cast to go on and will have to finish when my arm is sufficiently healed. But there are too many features and not even reading their very thick user manual) can make sense out of most of them. !
Best Yet!
This is my fourth DAP from FiiO. I also own a couple of headphone amplifiers and other pieces of their equipment. I listen almost entirely to FLAC hi-res music files. Headphones include Neumann, Grado, Shure, Beyer, Sennheiser and Austrian Audio. In the past I have been a recording engineer and a record producer. In short, I'm a very serious audiophile. The M11 Plus ESS does not disappoint. This player has state of the art circuitry. I won't dwell on technical details. All you need to know is that it does a fantastic job with the hi-res FLAC files I have played up to 192/24 resolution. I will shortly try even higher resolution when I've download some. My previous players did not allow this resolution. Even 44/16 files sound better than earlier players. The M11 has controls accessed through buttons and menus. Usual buttons for player function as well as a user defined button. It has three three levels of gain. Also a balance control. It has more than adequate gain for my least efficient and high impedance phones without the need of a separate amp. Digital options include selectable low pass filters. DSD conversions and digital output to allow the M11 to be used with an external DAC. There are both balanced and unbalanced headphone outputs. The 3.5mm jack does triple duty as a headphone jack, a line output and an SPDIF output. Function and gain are selected by menus. Watch out when using phones not to set it to line output. Very high levels. As far as Bluetooth is concerned the M11 is capable of all common codecs and offers selectable LDAC and aptX modes depending on your phones. Pairing seems to be flawless. Can receive Bluetooth also for file transfers. The device can operated using the Pure Music mode with FiiO Music or the Android mode using FiiO music or other Android apps. Wi-Fi connectivity is good. I am using Sirius XM. I am also experimenting with the AMP music player app. Comes with Chrome browser installed. Also Google Play. I have installed a 1TB memory card with about 10,000 songs (so far). Once it scanned the card it has my entire library available. Unlike earlier FiiO players there is only one card slot. Mechanically solid construction and good battery life. USB C connection for charging and data transfer. USB C cable included as well as SPDIF adapter. Case is also supplied. This unit is not cheap. However, if you are serious about music and want Android capability it well worth the price.
yeah this thing rips
I love that its thicker than a deck of cards and quite hefty. feels solid and chunky. super easy to add music to. my only problem is that the default music app doesn't have a very robust queue function; it kind of feels like using old-school iTunes on my old ipod touch, back in the day of on-the-go playlists. However, the fiio supports most music player apps from the play store, and the pure music mode is still great for sitting back and listening to an album
No album art
I own this player plus a fiio m11, m6, astell&kern kann alpha, and a Sony nw a45. I get album art on my astell&kern kann alpha and Sony. But on my fiio players, only 6 of over 2000 files show album art. This is the reason I'm selling my fiio players and sticking with the kann alpha and Sony. The fiio players have great build quality and excellent sound, but without album art it's a deal breaker. By the way I've tried new sd cards, the same sd card in all payers without luck. After careful research, I found that thus is a wide issue with fiio players. So be forewarned.
Awesome!
Is a great pairing with my Campfire headphones. Truly adds to an utterly unique listening experience.
hi res affordable
If you are looking for a HI RES digital player that will give you value for money...this is the player for you.
This player does it all
Supports such a wide range of codecs (with latest firmware upgrade) and especially with FIIO FW5 and UTWS5. Puts my old AK SR25 to shame. I do miss having an analog volume control, but not enough to spend another $1K for the M17. The bluetooth is solid, and the amps are more than sufficient even for a set of Dan Clark planars.
Make Music Fun Again
Fantastic portable player that really makes your music fun again. With headphones, in the car & through desktop speakers this unit reinvents music.
